The highly anticipated modern retelling of
“Pangako Sa ‘Yo” dominated the national TV
Ratings as the newest teleserye of ABS-CBN
earned more than double the national
viewership of its rival program. The pilot
episode of the Pangako Sa ‘Yo garnered a
nationwide rating of 34%, according to the
announcement released by Star Creatives.
The data was based from Kantar Media’s
latest survey results as it opened strong on
Monday, May 25, 2015. The pilot episode tells
the story of Amor Powers, one of the most
memorable character of the internationally-
acclaimed teleserye, Pangako Sa ‘Yo.
According to the data gathered by Kantar
Media, the 34% ratings of Pangako Sa ‘Yo
doubled the national tV ratings of its rival
program “Let the Love Begin,” of GMA-y
which garnered only 15% in TV ratings.
The ratings of Pangako Sa ‘Yo was also
translated to worldwide trends as the official
hashtag of the pilot episode dominated not
only the local trending topic but also the
worldwide trending topic on Monday night.
The debut episode of the top-rating
teleserye, “Pangako Sa ‘Yo,” focus on Amor
Powers’ humble past, the series premiere
saw the first interactions of Jodi Sta. Maria
(Amor) with Ian Veneracion (Eduardo
Buenavista), a political scion whom Amor
long admired most. The pilot episode also
features the character of Angelica
Panganiban (Claudia), the would-be nemesis
and fierce rival of Amor.
Based upon the original Pangako Sa ‘Yo,
Amor and Claudia’s respective children, Yna
and Angelo, fall in love but are anguished to
find out that they might be half-siblings.
Kathryn Bernardo will portray the role of Yna
while Daniel Padilla will play the role of
Angelo, both Yna and Angelo are the lead
characters in the series.
